Travelogue - Goa

From long time we were planning for Goa and we wanted to Goa only during Goa carnival time which is xmas time. We started on 24th of December 9:30 pm from Bangalore. Initially we thought we would reach Goa by at morning 10:00 am but because of choosing the longest route by our novice driver, we reached Goa around 3:00 pm in the afternoon of 25th of December. We had already booked the hotel Park Plaza in Panjim – the capital of Goa. This hotel is nearby Miramar Beach. Once we reached the Panaji city we were not able to trace the hotel. One nice local guy literally showed us the Hotel. He was very much concerned whether we had done the booking or not in the Hotel Park plaza. My first impression was people are very much welcoming in Goa. The hotel was very nice and after having late lunch, we went the Miramar beach.
Miramar is the nearest beach to the Goan capital and unarguably the most visited beach of Goa. Hordes of people, mostly tourists, are found every day flocking to this beach.

After seeing the sunset in Miramar Beach, we went to the Baga Beach. The most happing beach of North Goa – I believe. We were there in the beach till 12:00 am. Lots and lots of parties were happening in the beach only because of xmas. We went to Cloud 9 party and enjoyed like anything. Lot of foreigners also were there and beach. People were sitting on the beach and enjoying the tranquillity of the Sea with their drinks. It was really a nice experience. We were walking on the sand with bare feet. There is very famous restaurant in Baga beach named Brettos. The famous drink of Goa is Cashew feni but it doesn’t give any kick though. Goa is a very good place for shopping also. Lot of shops are there on the both side of the roads near the beach. We went to Calangute beach around 1:00 am. The experience in Calangute was not very good through. May be it was not the correct time to go calangute beach.
On 27th of December, we went to Vagatore Beach. The most scenic beach of Goa I believe though I have not gone to candoleme beach. Rocks were there in the sea and we had enjoyed a lot in the water.
We has discovered the “Dil Chahta Hai” fort there only. The name of the fort is chapora fort. The way to go the Chapora fort was very risky but we could achieve that. It was really fastidious watching the sea and beach from the fort.
Afternoon we went to the Anjuna Beach and then came back and went to Baga Beach again for partying.
On 28th December, morning, it was the day for coming back. Morning we went to the St. Xavier’s Church which is a World heritage house in Old Goa. Old Goa is totally different from New Goa. New Goa has a charm while Old Goa is calm and quiet.
After having our lunch in Delhi Darbar, we started from Goa and reached Bangalore on 29th December morning 5:00 am.
It was really a nice experience but we could not see lot of beaches. So maybe we will plan again for next xmas.
